Daily Routine of Archan Tia

Today was a busy day for Archan Tia, early in the morning Archan Tia have to go to Bukit Mertajam to bless a newly opening shop, he tell me in Hokkien he going to BM to “wash shop” and I nearly laugh out load on the phone not because he say something wrong but because its kind of funny to hear such “local dialect” from him. The “wash shop” is something like blessing the shop / office / company / building to make it “brighter” so it will have better energy to attract more business and also to remove bad spirit if any. Archan Tia back at 3:30PM and they are already 3 groups of people waiting for him, 1 Chinese family from Gurun, 1 group of Siam fellows from Pedu and another group of Siam teenage buddy from somewhere near Nibong Tebal.

Archan Tia start with the first group to perform “Car Blessing” ritual (check out the video) follows by telling fortune and disease curing on the rest of the family member. All these services are free of charge and all donations will goes to the development of temple. Archan Tia never offer “extra” ritual if you turned out to be really in bad luck, only he will suggest you to perform “floral bath” and still it is free of charge and donation based.

When he is done with the first group, second one was sakyant and it took about 1 hour to get 2 sakyant done on that Siam fellow’s back neck and arm. He was recommended by his friend who just did the Singha sakyant not very long ago, his friend feel that the sakyant is quite powerful because it feels hot when Archan Tia start to chant, also he feels more energetic after received the sakyant, so he recommend his friend to here. Its already like 6PM when he is all done with 3 groups of followers, now its time for him to show me the second attempt batch of Nam Kwak that going to release for this coming’s “papha” event, he has tried few mold to come out the best possible look of Nam Kwak before start to produce in mass. This mold look better and I have take few photos of it, will share on my next post.
